The Minnesota Society, Stephen Taylor Award
Applications Due May 1st
The Minnesota Society Stephen Taylor Award is presented to the compatriot who has contributed significantly to preserving the history of the American Revolutionary era and its patriots through his research and writing.
Applications may be submitted at the state or chapter level by May 1st of each year.
Applications are to be sent to the Vice Chair of the History Committee for judging, Roger S. Williams, roger@princetonsar.org 609-389-5657.
A judging panel will consist of at least three and no more than five members of the History Committee as appointed by the Historian General at the Spring Trustees Meeting. The results of the competition will be consolidated by the Vice Chair of the History Committee and submitted to the Chair of the History Committee. The Chair will approve the judging and forward the Committee’s recommendation to the Historian General for final approval and forwarding to the National Society Executive Director no later than 1 June.
National Society Certificate Titled: The Minnesota Society, Stephen Taylor Award; with the Name and Society of the Winner and the Year Awarded. To be presented at the Annual Congress Awards Presentation.
The judging criteria are:
Which nominee “through his writing and research” made the greatest impact on “the preservation of the history of the American Revolution era and its patriots”?
Which nominee made the best use of new or known source documents?
Which nominee reached the largest audience?
